VIT Vellore fees: B.Tech 2026–27 and MBA guidance

  1. VIT does not have one B.Tech fee for every student. The official 2026–27 undergraduate fee table varies by programme group and allotted fee/scholarship category. Confirm Vellore campus, programme, admission year and category against your admission offer before budgeting.

    B.Tech academic tuition — 2026–27 published table

    Amounts below are ordered Category 0 → 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → 5.

    • Group A: ₹0; ₹1,73,000; ₹2,32,000; ₹3,40,000; ₹3,65,000; ₹3,95,000.
    • Group B: ₹0; ₹1,95,000; ₹3,04,000; ₹4,02,000; ₹4,45,000; ₹4,90,000.
    • Group C: ₹0; ₹2,07,000; ₹2,66,000; ₹3,74,000; ₹3,99,000; ₹4,29,000.

The table labels categories 0–4 as scholarship fee categories and 5 as no-scholarship. A displayed ₹0 is not a general offer of free admission: eligibility and the allotted category must be confirmed. Computer Science and Engineering appears in Group B on the page; programme availability and any specialisation must be checked for Vellore rather than inferred from a university-wide list.

The source states that a one-time refundable ₹5,000 caution deposit is collected with first-year tuition. Tuition and that deposit are not a hostel/mess-inclusive cost. Do not multiply an unconfirmed category amount into an assumed four-year total.

    Hostel and mess are separate

The official hostel index links separate first-year Vellore 2026–27 schedules for men’s and ladies’ accommodation and student categories. The Vellore freshers’ notice says hostel fees include mess and laundry and are selected through student login. The fee-table downloads could not be verified in this check, so no exact room/mess charge or residential total is quoted. Request the applicable schedule alongside your admission offer.

MBA — separate admission cycle and unresolved discrepancy

The MBA page currently advertises 2027–28 admissions, Class of 2029, offered across Vellore, Chennai, VIT-AP and VIT-Bhopal. It must not be labelled as a Vellore-only 2026 MBA quotation.

Its fee table shows ₹4,00,000 annual tuition, a ₹3,000 refundable caution deposit and ₹4,03,000 first-year total. For the second year, the table shows ₹4,00,000 and separately says ₹5,500 alumni and consolidated mark-sheet fees will be collected. However, the same page’s FAQ states ₹4,00,500 for year two, plus ₹5,500. The ₹500 discrepancy remains unresolved; this guide does not choose one figure or calculate a definitive two-year total.

    Confirm your payable amount

Read the official undergraduate fee table or MBA admissions page, then use VIT’s admissions contacts to confirm campus, programme, category, admission cycle, separate accommodation costs and the final payment demand. An older batch’s fees or a figure for another campus is not a substitute.

Sources checked 2 November 2026 (UTC). B.Tech figures are the published 2026–27 academic table; MBA references belong to the page’s 2027–28 admission cycle.
