How to book an appointment at CMC Vellore

  1. Book through CMC Vellore's official patient portal, reached from CMC's Patient Portal page. Its official FAQ explains different procedures for new and repeat patients. An appointment enquiry or pre-registration is not the same as a confirmed consultation.

    New patients: online appointment steps

    1. Open CMC's official Patient Portal page and choose “Take online appointment.”
    2. Use the new-patient option and enter the requested patient details.
    3. Select the department and read its description before proceeding. Do not use this guide to choose a treatment or diagnose a condition.
    4. Follow the portal's appointment selection and payment instructions. The FAQ lists net banking and debit/credit cards; rely on the live portal for the methods currently offered and the amount payable.
    5. Keep the appointment confirmation and reporting instructions. CMC says the appointment printout gives the date, time and location.

The FAQ distinguishes a new general patient, seen by a doctor in the relevant unit, from a new private patient, booking a first consultation with a particular consultant. In some departments a new private patient may initially see another unit doctor before referral to the consultant. Do not assume that “private” means immediate availability.

    Repeat patients

Use the same official portal and enter your hospital number and year of birth, as directed in the FAQ. Choose a frequently visited clinic or a new clinic, read the department information, and follow the payment and confirmation steps.

CMC says registration produces one hospital number that can be used across departments. A patient may use general consultation in one department and private consultation in another without needing a different hospital number.

    Pre-registration and in-person registration

For Indian patients, CMC describes pre-registration as completing patient details online before coming to make an appointment. Keep the transaction/confirmation information supplied by the system. Pre-registration alone should not be described as a confirmed doctor booking.

The FAQ directs new Indian private patients to Silver Gate, Room 600, and new general patients to the ISSCC Building ground floor, beginning at Reception 400, then triage and appointment-payment counters. These are the FAQ's registration directions; the confirmed appointment's location takes precedence for a booked visit.

For international patients, the FAQ directs the patient and relatives to the International Relations Office (IRO), Room 900 B, Prince Manor Building, with passports and previous medical reports if available, and says its staff handle registration and appointments. Confirm current international-patient instructions directly before travelling.

Where do I report after booking?

CMC says to report to the Medical Records Officer in the relevant outpatient department. Read the date, time and location on the appointment printout rather than assuming every appointment is at the same campus. This guide does not substitute a single hospital address for the booking-specific destination.

    Help and safeguards

CMC's FAQ lists Help Desk: 8300205250 and Main Enquiry in the CMC campus: 0416-2282629. These are official website-listed help contacts; telephone responsiveness was not tested.

CMC also states that it has no authorised appointment service centre outside CMC and warns patients not to contact outsiders for bookings. Use the official portal or hospital counters, not a third party promising priority access.

For an earlier appointment, the FAQ describes approaching Counter 492 with the patient, hospital number and appropriate identification, subject to cancellations being available. It is not a guarantee of a same-day or earlier slot. Changes, cancellation and payment policies should be confirmed in the current portal or with CMC; this draft does not promise refunds.
